OCTOBER 12-16 | PHOTO-A-DAY 2015

Why is she up on the counter drinking her apple juice with no hands first thing in the morning?  Not sure…but she was sure cute.

Greg is going to KILL me for this one.  But it is SO on point with our bedtime routine right now it’s not even funny.  These girls exhaust every bone and every ounce of energy we have.  When story time rolls around we are just beat.  I have caught Greg time and time again literally falling asleep reading to the girls.  I can’t really blame him, though,  because he does have a soothing reading voice.  I went through a period of time early on in our marriage when I was having a hard time sleeping and the ONLY thing that got me to sleep was him reading to me.  Too bad his voice does not have the same effect on the girls!!  We have stopped fighting the “no snacks after dinner time” fight.  However, they can only have fruits or vegetables after dinner.  Amity prefers her carrots whole.  And her apples whole.  Maybe cutting and slicing fruits and vegetables is for babies…who knows.

I stood on the counter to get this vantage point and they thought that was pretty cool.  Sometimes I do cool things.  Not very often though.

Verity is intently watching her sister totally dominate at this matching game app on the iPhone.  Then she surprised us all when it was her turn and also totally dominated at the game.

Verity has a bit of a reputation in our house for not being a morning person.  Her preferred wake-up time is somewhere around 8:00am.  Get her up any earlier than this and you are going to be walking a fine line, ladies and gentlemen ; )  Boy is she soft and snuggly though!!

Look at that face!!  I love her confidence.  She knows who she is and what she wants.  I seriously can’t wait to see who she becomes as an adult.  I mean, I can.  I for sure can.  Because I think I’ll die if they ever really grow up.  How will I not have them like this anymore?!?!  But we are pretty sure she is going to be The President, a CEO, or someone else in a high powered leadership role.  Mark my words! ; )  I mean look at that face!

My friend Robin Long, who is also a newborn photographer here in Salem (Well, I mean she is like THE newborn photographer here in Salem!) was having a prop destash sale.  So the girls and I went to check it out, and after they had been so good there (wiping only minimal amounts of Cheetos and Doritos powdered cheese on her white leather couch) I rewarded them with a trip to the park.  It was a park we hadn’t been to before, and the leaves out were so pretty.  These capture their personalities so well!

I swear.  Don’t let me move into another house unless the kitchen has GREAT natural light.  I mean that is the room we live in.  That is the room where everything happens.  It’s where I take a ton of photos and I refuse to be fixing crappy incandescent light in lightroom for the rest of my life ; )

I had just come home from a photo shoot and they were in the kitchen goofing around, clipping at Greg’s heels as he was trying to put dinner together.  I was a fresh audience.  “Mom!  Look!  Look! I can balance a book on my head now!!”  Sure enough…

The medal was from their fun-run at school that day.  Both girls ran a ton of laps.  Amity ran 30 and Verity ran 26.  Not bad, Ver, not bad!!  Always keeping up very closely with her big sis.

On my way home from my session Greg had texted me telling me he “needed” chips and salsa.  So I stopped at Marco’s on my way home and got some for him.  Like the good wife I am!  The girls were pretty happy about this delivery too.  This photo is of Verity displaying her great pleasure of the chips and salsa ; )
