OCTOBER 29-31 | PHOTO-A-DAY

The finish line!  Wow, we are here…the end of October.  Our lives forever changed TWICE by this month.  It went so fast and I felt like I pulled this project off by the skin of my teeth but I did it.  Okay, so I missed 1 day but whose counting?  : )  Until next year October Photo-A-Day project, until next year…

The park is done, the park is done!  The biggest soap opera drama of Amity’s summer finally comes to an exciting end with the opening of the playground at East Holladay Park right in our very own neighborhood.  It’s less than a 10 minute walk from us and we couldn’t be more excited about it.  The playground toys are mostly for older children, but that’s okay, at least she will be growing INTO it rather than out of it.  Such a needed amenity in our ‘hood!  Amity is thrilled to have a place to let off some steam and I’m excited to meet more people in our area too.  After watching the construction of the playground unfold week after week to see her face and excitement when we turned the corner and saw kids playing was just priceless.  Here is to many more trips to the park!

“It’s My Birthday!”  We had a great day which was kicked off with cupcakes for breakfast.  Then off to her girlfriend’s Elise and Evie’s Halloween party.  She was happy to get dressed up in her costume for a dry run and the house was full of lots of little characters : )  We came home, had a pretty good nap, then went to Target to run an errand.  At Target she had a cinnamon pretzel (my latest trick for a contented shopper).  After we had checked out I let her climb all over the cafe furniture there.  For whatever reason this brings her pure joy.  On and off the stools, booth seats, and chairs.  Daddy and Amity went out to pick-up sushi for her birthday dinner.  This girl looooves sushi!  She can put it away like nobody’s business (and don’t worry it is all cooked).  Lately though she likes for us to take the seaweed out, not sure if that is going to be a habit that sticks around.  This photo is of her midway through singing herself the Happy Birthday song.  Such exuberance!!  We are so proud of her and all she has accomplished this year, it’s just Amazing how much she has grown in every way.  She truly is a delight.  Full on birthday party to come this weekend up in Gig Harbor at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.

This Halloween Amity was Tinker Bell!  Cute as could be!!  Tonight she announced to us, “I’m gonna fly!” and proceeded to run around the kitchen/living room with her arms spread out.  We had family, JJ and Kellie, in town for the evening to celebrate her birthday and Halloween in one and she gobbled up the attention.  She had her first real experience trick-or-treating and just had a Blast.  It was perfect outside too – no rain!  The first few houses she dutifully knocked, waited, door opened, said “trick-or-treat Please!” and then walked right into their house.  Wait! wait!  come back Amity girl you gotta stay Outside their house.  Folks always let her walk right in while Greg and I were trying to real her back out.  Eventually she got the hang of it and stuck to the greater outdoors.  When we got home JJ helped her sort and count her pieces.  She tried several lollipop flavors a chocolate piece and then headed for bath.  Her little sis slept most of the evening and I did have a cupcake hat for her but was a bad mother and didn’t get a pic of that today.  I will have to do that tomorrow and call it good enough : )  Hopefully tonight Amity is having dreams of fairies flying, lollipops, friendly neighbors, and her family that loves her to pieces.
