Wisteria at Bush Park – Family Photos

The wisteria at Bush Park makes a stunning spring backdrop for family photographs here in Salem, Oregon. They are dripping with lilac gorgeousness.

Spring has sprung! The Willamette Valley has so many beautiful backdrops to choose from during March through June.

One of my favorites is the wisteria at Bush Park. But my goodness. It can be a hard one to nail down for a photo shoot. Between rainy spring weather, my schedule, my client’s schedule, and the wisteria’s short bloom time – we are lucky to get to it at all.

In fact, I think 2013 was the last time I have done a session here. And those were my own family photos – done by another photographer!

A few weeks back, I was on a walk at Bush Park and saw that the wisteria was in bloom! After checking the weather forecast and my schedule, I posted a quick shout-out on Instagram to see if anyone would be interested in a socially distanced family session at the wisteria.

One of my dear families that I’ve photographed many times over the years hopped on the opportunity! 🙌

How this little one is EIGHT now is beyond me. I wish we lived closer because I’m positive she and my girls would be thick as thieves.

And we took one with masks – to document this crazy weird time in history we are all living through right now.
