This year we spent our 4th of July up at Greg’s parent’s beach house on the Hood Canal and it was darn near perfect. The kids were great, the weather was great, the swimming was great, the company was great, the fireworks were great…you get the idea. We drove up on Friday and took our sweet time stopping for several potty breaks, lunch, a visit with family, and of course…to load up on fireworks! The girls had so much fun picking out a few things. They are pretty easy to please.

Oh the swimming that was had! You wouldn’t know it from these photos (because according to all of the photos from my camera I was not present on this trip) however I DID go swimming. The water was the warmest I have ever experienced up there. As you can see, the girls were also pleased with the water temperature.
So many cousins! The girls were in cousin heaven!
On Saturday evening the tide was high enough for jumping off the bulk head. This was the first time Verity had done it and as soon as she saw her sissy go for it, she had no doubts about it. She just JUMPED! No hesitation, no crying, nothing. Brave and fearless – that is our girl!
Greg’s mom and dad. How cute are they?! A rare moment of them both sitting and relaxing together.
The girls both insisted that Uncle Steve catch them!
She was SO proud of herself!! I love this photo of Greg and her.
Grandma loves…
Amina hearing the first big firework of the evening!
One more swim this morning before we had to pack the car up to head back home.
