OCTOBER 10-15 | PHOTO-A-DAY 2013

It’s October 15th and I’m half-way there!  It’s not easy pulling out my “big girl” camera every day, but I’m loving this collection of photos of the girls and it will be so, so worth it.

A little disclaimer about Amity’s totally frumpalicious outfit…she had a potty accident at school today, and I had accidentally put her extra clothes in the wrong place.  Teacher had to scramble to put her in some dry clothes.  Amity loved the pants actually; me, not so much ; )  Verity thought it was pretty funny pushing her big sis around in the baby doll stroller.  I can’t believe she’s going to be walking soon.  I don’t think it will be for several months yet, but it will be before I know it (and before I’m ready for it)!

After being sick for a few days this girl sure has her appetite back.  She eats ALL. THE. TIME.  She was squawking away so I gave her this big bowl of cheerios and frosted mini wheats.  She was happy as could be.

You’d think I was the creative one, right?  My degree is in interior design, and making my career in photography…but oh no, it’s Greg who thinks up all these creative fun games for them.  We’ve been using these tubes (my seamless photo backdrop paper is delivered in these) to race match box cars, but Greg turned it into a balance beam.  Amity was Thrilled.  Greg tried to see if she could do it without holding onto him, but she decided she was not going to try that.

Okay, so mommy fail.  I did not take a photo of Verity Jane on October 11th so this is a stand-in from October 12th : )  Oooo, I was so mad when I realized the day had slipped away with a missing photo.  Oh, well, I’m not perfect.  Anyhow, this was taken on the car ride to Tammy and Jeff’s.  We were supposed to photograph a full day of mini sessions today, but the weather was calling for showers during session times, so we rescheduled for next week.  Anyhow, Tammy was going to watch the girls for us, so we still went over to see all of them.  Greg put these headphones on Ver thinking she’d rip them right off but she thought it was pretty cool and kept them on the whole ride over.  And no, she is Not listening to any music.  Lol!October 12, 2013 | 8:32am

Do you watch Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood?  Yeah…we do.  A lot.  Actually, I really like it.  Very wholesome show with catchy little tunes (“Flush, and wash, and be on your way!”).  Amity has been obsessed with the Sleepover episode the past couple of days.  So, of course, Greg thought to get out her little kid tent and sleeping bag to play sleepover.  She read books in it this morning, took a nap in it this afternoon, and played with cousins Zach and Emily in it this evening.

I had just woken Verity up from her morning nap.  I know…never wake a sleeping baby, right?!  Well, girlie we have places to go and things to do!  I snapped one photo of her sleeping and this is the second photo that woke her up.  I love her sweet happy face.  She was excited to see me there when she woke up : )

Apparently, October and Health are not two things that go together in our family.  So far we have endured strep throat for me, sinus infection for Greg, and a stomach virus for Verity.  When Amity woke up this Sunday morning looking green and was super lethargic I about had a conniption fit.  I thought we were in the clear and I just hate to see my kids sick.  It drives me crazy with worry over them.  We were headed out later that morning for an overnight trip to Tacoma/Olympia for a friend’s wedding.  It’s so hard to know what to do: do you cancel plans and lay low or do you press on and see what develops?  We decided to go for it since she didn’t have a fever, didn’t have any other symptoms and our family was going to be watching them.  (Sorry Family!)  Thankfully she did not get any worse.  And it turned out to be a great little trip for us.  The girls BOTH took a morning nap on the drive up.  After the nap we took a pit stop in Kelso at Starbucks (our usual stopping point when we go up north).  Amity got her favorite snack – the hard boiled egg.

Like I said, the girl looooves to stuff her face! ; )  Not really sure how many grapes she has in those little cheeks of hers at this moment.  And I just die over the little track suit on her.  It was a gift from her birth-dad and birth-grandma.  She’s almost grown out of it, but I think I’ve got another month or so of use out of it : )

On our way home to Salem.  Both the girls took great naps in the car.  Yay.  I love the lighting and the color of this photo.  I don’t think I will EVER tire of her sweet sleeping face.

At JJ’s house Verity made friends with the dog, Lucy.  I think she was trying to get a rise out of Lucy but doggie was too content to be bothered by baby.

This morning Amity woke up just the same as she had on Sunday morning.  Lethargic and so tired.  Still no signs of flu or stomach virus.  I didn’t have a session today so I kept her home with me today.  She took a morning and afternoon nap and laid low watching cartoons, reading books, finger paint, and ran an errand with me to Costco and to get her a smoothie.  Her appetite has been little to none so the smoothie was an attempt to get her to eat something and she did.  This morning when she woke up she asked where Verity was.  I told her that Daddy had taken her to school and she cried out, “I want Verity BACK!”  I about died.  It was so sweet.  This evening she seems to be on the up swing.  I really hope she is feeling more herself tomorrow.  She really, really wanted mac n cheese for lunch (she wants this EVERY day actually) so I made it and she did eat a bowl of it.  The lighting in our kitchen is usually horrid but at this moment I saw the light coming in through the bonus room and it was falling on her so softly so grabbed my camera.

Come 7:00 Verity hits a wall.  She has to get into bed ASAP.  These were a few snuggles before bedtime.  Verity had already had her bath and Amity was about to get it.  When I look at this photo and see my arms full with TWO girls, I wonder how did I become so blessed?  How did I, who has been diagnosed with “unexplained infertility” end up with two beautiful girls filling my arms and our home?  The Lord is Good.
