Yesterday was Amity’s First Birthday Party. It was a success! I’ll blog more later about the party details but for now…two photos that quite sum up the day. The first of our smiling beauty with her party hat on. I have my dear friend Amy to thank for this photo. She took this right after I successfully got the hat on. I was distracting Amity to keep her attention off the hat so she would wear it long enough to blow out her candles. And we got this adorable shot. The party went on, we ate the most rich and glorious cake and then opened gifts. Well, I opened Amity’s gifts for her. She was interested at first but then got VERY busy trying everything out.
After the last guest left we put her down for a nap. She was of course completely hyper. Often she romps around and plays in her crib before finally giving into sleep so when she did that after the party I was not surprised. I did not think twice about leaving her in there to do her thing. An hour later and the playing had turned into crying. I said to Greg, “oh fine, go in there and give her her binky back.” A minute later Greg called out to me, “Katie!! You better get in here!” We found a very unhappy 1 year old in squalor. The photo really says it all… Be happy that you weren’t us at 3:08 on Saturday the 29th : )

that frowny face with the lip is too much! i’m so sorry for all involved!
Oh. My. Goodness. So hilarious. Usually everything you write about we indentify with. I really hope this one is not in our near future! 🙂
And if it is…I just hope that you are lucky as I was and Patrick is HOME. I would have Died if I had to clean all that up myself! lol
Love that face and Greg’s arm comforting her. That is my favorite photo of all time!!! Tells the whole story and fills you with multiple emotions all at once. That’s a keeper! Nice work getting a sweet one before the incident too Amy!
